A tooth may need a root canal treatment for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons include deep decay, deep restorations or fillings that are close to the center of the tooth which causes sensitivity (to hot/cold or sweets), pain, a cracked tooth, trauma/accident, or abscess formation.
